Were preist in Christian church's able to stop dicvore from happening?

    They tried to stop it, but allowed it when adultery appeared.

    No but the church didn't have enough power to stop it.

    The priest tried to stop divorce from happening, but, allowed it when adultry appered and they didnt have enough power in the community to stop it.
